Zombie Font
A zombie font should look like it crawled out of the ground. Clean drips feel too fresh. What you want is lettering that's been clawed at, chipped and left out in the rain. In our collection, that's Bloodmoon Claw Rough.
Best match: Claw Rough
The distressed scratch font starts from slashed capitals, then wears them down. Edges are ragged. Some strokes look bitten off. It reads like a sign spray-painted on a boarded-up store, which is exactly the end-of-the-world feel a zombie theme needs.
Need the same shapes without the rot? The claw scratch font (Bloodmoon Claw) is the clean version. Use it for a logo or small text, and save Claw Rough for the big headline. The two share letter shapes, so they look like a matched pair.
Ideas for a zombie font
- Zombie run posters and race bibs. "RUN OR BE EATEN" in Claw Rough, distance and start time in a plain bold font.
- An undead-themed party. Barricade-style signs for the door, "QUARANTINE ZONE" banners, and a survivor checklist on the snack table.
- Indie game titles. A survival game logo or a level card. Pull tracking in to -10 so the torn edges almost touch.
- Band merch and shirts. The distressed look already feels screen-printed, so it hides the clean edge of digital art.
Tip: set it in a sickly green or dried-blood brown instead of bright red. Zombies are about decay, not fresh wounds.
Making it look rotten
Fonts get you most of the way. The rest is texture. Drop a grunge photo over the letters and set it to Multiply, or knock a few holes out of the strokes with an eraser in Procreate. On a shirt, a cracked-ink print effect makes the letters look older still. Keep the background dark and dirty, never pure black, so the worn edges have something to fade into. One more trick: stagger the baseline a little, letting one or two letters sag lower than the rest, as if the sign is falling apart.
