Bloody Dripping Letters Font

Bloodmoon Drip is a bloody dripping letters font with bouncy, uneven letters with long, sharp dripping tails. The letters hop up and down a little, like someone wrote them fast with a wet finger. Even a short word fills the space under it.

Bounce on top, long drips below

The capitals don't sit on one straight line. Some ride high and some dip. That bounce makes it feel hand-made and a little playful, so it fits family Halloween stuff as well as gore. Think a kids' party invite, a trick-or-treat sign on the front door, or a bake sale banner at school. It's scary, but it isn't nasty.

The tails are the other half of the look. They hang well below the baseline and they all run different lengths. Plan for them before you place the word, or they'll crash into whatever sits underneath.

Tips for dripping letters that look right

  • Give the drips somewhere to land. Set the word just above a border, the edge of a photo or a strip of color. The drips look like they're running into it.
  • Open up the line spacing. With two lines of text, add extra space between them. The tails from the top line need a gap to hang in.
  • Mix upper and lower keys. The lowercase keys give a second drawing of each capital. In Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator, doubled letters like the OO in BOO swap on their own too.
  • Try a two-tone shadow. Duplicate the text, color the back copy near-black and nudge it a few pixels down and right. On a light background the letters look wet and raised.
  • Keep it short. One to three words per line. A full sentence turns into a wall of drips that nobody reads.

Where it fits

Haunted trail signs, zombie walk posters, pumpkin-carving contest flyers and spooky playlist covers. If you're making a party invite, the Halloween party flyer fonts page shows how to lay one out. For undead themes, see the zombie font ideas. Cutting vinyl? Cut it big so the thin tail tips don't tear when you weed, and follow our steps to install fonts on Cricut.

Questions people ask

Can I upload Bloodmoon Drip to Canva?

Yes, on Canva Pro or Teams. Open your Brand Kit, pick "Upload a font" and select the .otf file. The free plan doesn't allow font uploads. Our Canva guide walks through it.

Am I allowed to sell shirts with these dripping letters on them?

Yes. The standard license covers printed products you sell, including print-on-demand shops and Cricut or Silhouette projects. What you can't do is share or resell the font file itself. Full terms are on the license page.

Is there a lowercase alphabet?

No true lowercase. It's a capitals-only font, and the lowercase keys type a second drawing of each capital. That's useful: type "DriP" and the two styles mix, so the word looks hand-lettered.

Can I type Spanish, French or German words?

Yes. It includes Á É Í Ó Ú Ñ Ü Ç À È Ê Ô Ã Õ Ø ß ¡ ¿ and €, which covers Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.

Will it show up in Google Docs?

No. Google Docs only offers its own font list and can't load a font you install. For a printable document, use Microsoft Word: install the font, quit Word fully, reopen it. See scary fonts for Word.

How big should I set it?

Headline size. The long tails need room to read as drips. Use it for one to three words, and set dates, addresses and small print in a plain font.
