Slasher Font
Slasher lettering is all about the blade. Every stroke should look like it was cut, not drawn. Sharp points, hard angles, and a little speed in the slashes. Bloodmoon Claw was built for exactly that.
Best match: Claw
The claw scratch font has clean, slashed capitals that look carved with a knife. It's the most precise font in the set, so it holds up at small sizes, in logos, and on a thumbnail seen on a phone screen. Kerning is built in, and the slashes line up nicely when you tighten spacing.
For the gory version, add blood. Set the title in Claw, then put one word, like the date or "TONIGHT", in the dripping blood font (Bloodmoon Brush). Sharp cuts plus running drips tell the whole story in two lines.
Where a slasher font fits
- Slasher movie night. A printed lineup on the fridge, a ticket for each guest, or a "NO ONE LEAVES" sign on the door.
- VHS-style posters. Set the title in white Claw on a black band, add a grainy photo, and scuff it up in Photoshop. It instantly feels like a rental-store cover.
- True-crime thumbnails. One or two words, huge, in white with a red outline. Claw stays sharp when the image is shrunk to a small preview.
- Escape-the-killer game nights. Clue cards, a case file cover, a fake police report title.
Tip: slashes read faster when the text is slightly tilted. Rotate the headline a few degrees for a sense of movement.
Color and layout
Stick to three colors: black, white and one red. Put the title high on the page and leave the bottom dark, the way old video covers did. A thin red line or a single splatter under the title is enough; more blood than that turns it into a gore poster. Need a cut-out look? In Canva or Photoshop, slice a thin diagonal gap through the title and nudge the top half sideways a few pixels. It looks like the word itself took a hit.

Preview shows capitals, numbers and basic punctuation. The full font adds a second drawing of every letter, accents and auto-alternates.
Pairing it with body text? The horror font pairings guide has options. Bloodmoon Claw is $6 on its own, or get it with the drip styles in the horror font bundle for $14.
