About Oddform Foundry
Oddform Foundry is a small, independent type studio. We make display fonts with a hand-drawn feel: letters that look like a person made them, not a machine. Oddform Foundry is a brand of AutomIQ AI Inc..
What we make
Our first collection is Bloodmoon, five horror fonts built for Halloween, haunted houses, horror merch and anything that needs to feel a bit dangerous:
- Bloodmoon Brush, a dripping blood font with painted strokes.
- Bloodmoon Drip, bouncy letters with long tails.
- Bloodmoon Melt, a melting blood font that pools at the base.
- Bloodmoon Claw, a sharp claw scratch font.
- Bloodmoon Claw Rough, the same slashes, torn and worn.
They're display fonts, meant for big words: titles, posters, shirts, logos, social graphics. For small text, we suggest a plain partner font, and the horror font pairings guide lists a few.
How the fonts are made
Hand-drawn lettering has one problem when it becomes a font: every "E" comes out identical, and the repetition gives the trick away. We handle that in a few ways.
- Two drawings of every letter. The capitals are one version. The lowercase keys hold a second version of each capital, so you can mix them by hand.
- Automatic swaps for doubles. In apps with OpenType support, doubled letters like LL, EE and OO switch to the alternate drawing on their own. The image above shows the difference.
- Built-in kerning. Letter pairs are spaced so words sit evenly without fiddling.
- Accents included. Spanish, French, German and Portuguese characters are drawn in the same style, so a "¡Feliz Día de Brujas!" poster doesn't need a second font.
Every font ships in OTF, TTF, WOFF and WOFF2, with a license that covers commercial work. You can read exactly what it allows on the font license page.
